As the year comes to an end, I find myself doing what runners naturally do after a long race slow down catch my breath and reflect on the miles already logged. This past year was filled with early mornings late nights, plenty of coffee and most importantly the privilege of helping families navigate residential real estate.

While every transaction involves numbers, timelines and signatures residential real estate is never just business. There is always emotion involved. For some clients it is their first home often the largest purchase of their lives. For others it is a move up move down or repositioning for the next chapter. On the seller side we have represented trust and probate sales where proceeds are distributed among heirs, creating opportunities for future homeownership investment and generational planning. Our role is simple guide protect and keep things moving while our clients continue living their very full lives.

As the holidays arrive the South Bay and Westside come alive with traditions that make these communities special. From streets filled with lights to waterfront celebrations, it is one of my favorite times of year to reflect on both community and market trends.

Holiday Miles A Road Trip North

This Christmas break included a road trip north to San Francisco and Pittsburg California to deliver keys to first time buyers we represented in the East Bay. These buyers will be getting married in February 2026 and closing just before the holidays made the moment even more meaningful.

Negotiating a successful Northern California purchase while based in Southern California takes trust preparation and communication. I am grateful our clients trusted us with that responsibility. The trip also included family time exploring Fisherman’s Wharf Lombard Street the Golden Gate Bridge Alcatraz Island and a drive past Oracle Park. Incredible views but still proudly a Dodgers fan.

Personal takeaway automatic transmissions are a blessing when navigating San Francisco hills.
