From the Desk of Johan Cisneros | The Running Realtor

Living in Hawthorne and working in the area since 2001 has taught me that a neighborhood tells you much more than a market headline. The homes, the businesses, and the people all help tell the story. Some of my favorite memories go back to attending Hawthorne High School and hanging out at the old Taco Bell after track meets, enjoying the $1 Nachos Supreme. These days, that same spot is home to Ziggi’s Coffee, with some great food options, too, but definitely no dollar menu, lol.

March gave sellers plenty to consider. Our single-family sales report recorded 12 closings, a $792,000 median sale price, and an average of 53 days on the market. Sales ranged from $680,000 to $1,665,000.

That is a wide range and a good reminder that your home deserves more than a ZIP code average.

Local flavor worth following

Hawthorne’s restaurant scene continues to give us something to talk about. A March report announced plans for Annie’s Soul Delicious to expand into Hawthorne that spring. It was an expansion announcement, so I would keep an eye out for confirmed opening details before planning a visit.

My advice for spring sellers

Start with preparation and a realistic comparison of your home’s condition, size, and location. A fresh coat of paint may help presentation, but the right starting price still needs support from comparable sales.

Thinking about selling this year? Let’s walk through your property and build a plan around your home, not someone else’s headline.
