From the Desk of Johan Cisneros | The Running Realtor

Some of the best local stories have nothing to do with a “For Sale” sign.

Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Bots robotics team gave our broader Wiseburn community a reason to celebrate this spring. Team 4201 earned the state-level FIRST Impact Award and qualified for the World Championships in Houston. Their main campus is in neighboring El Segundo, but their school community is closely connected to the Hawthorne-area families I serve.

As a parent and local coach, I appreciate the students, mentors, and families behind accomplishments like these.

May’s housing numbers

May recorded 21 single-family sales, the highest monthly count in our March–September reports. The median sale price was $1,107,000, and homes spent an average of 18 days on the market.

The sales ranged from $587,000 to $1,600,000—another reminder that there are several distinct price segments within our local market.

Local business spotlight: Chicken Maisón

For a neighborhood food feature, Chicken Maisón’s Hawthorne location at 4025 West El Segundo Boulevard offers a local Mediterranean takeout option.
